About the Lead Educator

Mrs. Wanda Poole

Mrs. Wanda Poole, Lead Educator

With great humility and joy I joined the leadership team of Yorkship Family School in January 2018 as Lead Educator.  In this position and in an effort to promote student growth, I am responsible to set clear instructional goals, manage curriculum and instruction, monitor lesson planning, provide educational supports and resources, and consistently monitor instructional practices.  I am passionate about education and look forward to continuing partnering with the Yorkship Team in providing our scholars challenging, engaging, and high-quality school experiences.  As a parent of two young ladies, ages 17 and 18, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection, ongoing professional development, and creating a climate of integrity.  I firmly believe by working together, we can make sure every child’s academic needs are met.

Before joining the Yorkship Family team, and over the past 20+ years, I served in a variety of educational roles as Director of Advocacy and Family Services, Director of District-wide after school programming, instructional coach, instructional mentor, Special Education Departmental Chair, varied level Grade Chairperson, as well as both a general and special education classroom teacher (grades 3 through 8).  With this diversity of experience, I believe Yorkship will continue growing toward an exemplar in better controlling our scholars’ destiny.
